When building out your data center with servers, you really have 3 options. Either buy Tower based servers, rack servers or blade servers.
Deciding on which type of server farm you want all depends on the real estate you have to house them, your long term growth plan and of course your budget.
Tower servers are generally on the lower end price-wise but can grow quickly into a very expensive solution.
As I had mentioned above about real estate, tower servers take up a lot of space because they are individual systems that also require individual monitors, keyboards which would also require a place for these peripherals to set on.
Rack servers are commonly used in medium to larger sized data centers. These servers are normally mounted inside of a rack or medal cage that, for example, would be 42″ tall and 19″ wide.

If you wasn’t born yesterday then you probably remember Google Buzz, Orkut, and Google Wave. All of those products and services were cool but did not muster enough following to take on Facebook and master social networking. Now it is on to round 4, or is it round 5? Whatever, Google is on to something new and it’s their biggest effort yet to be at the top of social networking.
On Tuesday, Google introduced a social networking service called the Google+ project. This service, which is initially available to a select group of Google users who will soon be able to invite others, will let people share and discuss status updates, photos and links, much like what they do on Facebook today.
Facebook Places has just been made available for BlackBerry v1.9. Users of the BlackBerry have been patiently waiting for this new feature that provides location based functionality to most of the top social networks around the world. Since Facebook Places was made available to Android customers about a week ago. BlackBerry users were checking every day to see when this would hit their phones. It’s now here and BlackBerry users can pick this up in the BlackBerry App World and current users can get this as an update.
Facebook Places gives you the ability to attach your GPS or A/GPS location to a map. By doing so you can let your friends know what you are doing and where you are currently doing it from. This is like allowing everyone to turn into “Big Brother”. It’s amazing how we always hear of complaints about privacy but I guess when it comes to new gadgets and apps for our phones. Privacy can take a back seat. I digress!
