- Consider uninstall unused programs.
- Remove icons from your desktop that you don&#039;t use regularly, or create &quot;category&quot; type folders on your desktop and move your icons into them.
- Use free tools from Microsoft such as  ProcessExplorer and AutoRuns (see my site) to keep track of what&#039;s running on your box, and disable/remove clutter.</description>
